As a 2002 graduate from the National Massage Therapy Institute in Philadelphia PA, Cara received her Pennsylvania State certificate in Swedish Massage and had additional focus on Deep Tissue Massage as well as Sports Massage. The program was 500 hours which at the time was not required in the state of Pennsylvania in order to practice Massage Therapy.  The laws are changing and Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell just signed a law in October 2008 that will create a State Board of Massage Therapy.  With this new regulation Massage Therapists are required to have a certain amount of training along with a PA state license in order to practice legally in Pennsylvania.  This is a huge step in the field.

    In 2003 Cara graduated from the Lansdale School of Cosmetology with a Certificate of completion of 300 hours of training in Esthetics.  In the Fall of 2003 she passed both the Practical and Written exams administered by the state of Pennsylvania and obtained her PA State License in Esthetics.  Cara’s license allows her to practice skin care in a professional manner throughout Pennsylvania.  With her license she is able to perform facials, waxing and makeup application.

    Cara received her Pennsylvania State certificate in Level I Reflexology from the Lansdale School of Cosmetology in mid-2003.  Reflexology is an ancient form of massage administered to the feet.  The concept is that there are spots all over the soles, sides and tops of the feet that correspond to different organs and systems of the body.  The techniques used in Reflexology are meant to assist in the healing process of various ailments throughout the body.

    Cara’s background in the field includes positions at some of the regions most highly regarded Salons and Spas.  Former employers include: Body Serene Day Spa in Skippack, PA, Chuck Thayer Salon and Spa in St. Davids, PA and Oggi Salon and Spa in Philadelphia, PA, Mellow Massage Therapy Center in East Falls, (Philadelphia) PA and 3000bc Spa in Chestnut Hill, PA & Wayne, PA.  Cara also has experience working for Chiropractors in both Warminster, PA and Lafayette Hill, PA.
